The app's words

What the words used across the app mean, from account to workflow, in plain terms.

The app uses plain words, but some of them mean something particular here. They are listed A to Z.

A to F

  • Account (sales): a business you sell to, converted from a lead or a prospect, with its contacts and opportunities. See The sales CRM.
  • Account (wholesale): a salon, shop or distributor that buys from you at wholesale prices. See Wholesale.
  • Activity log: every change made in the app, by whom and when. It cannot be edited or erased.
  • Admin: the organization's view across its businesses: brands, locations, location groups, logins, modules and tools. See Admin.
  • Advanced inventory: stock by location, transfers, pick tickets, consignment and 3PLs, switched on under Inventory, Setup. See Advanced inventory.
  • Approval: a change a program or an AI asked to make that your rules hold for a person to decide.
  • Apps menu: the grid button at the top that lists every section you have, with Help at the end.
  • Audience: a set of clients picked by rules (not seen in 60 days, regulars) for a campaign.
  • Bin: a shelf, rack spot or pallet spot with a code and a label to scan.
  • Blocked time: time taken out of someone's day on the calendar, such as lunch.
  • Board: a knowledge board in Memory, cards of what the business knows; or the columns of a project's tasks.
  • Brand (organization): a name businesses and locations trade under, set in Admin. Not the brand on a product you carry.
  • Buffer time: time before or after a service for preparation or cleanup, blocked on the calendar.
  • Bundle: products or services sold together at one price.
  • Card hold: a card saved, not charged, to hold a visit booked online, for the cancellation policy.
  • Check out: finishing a visit at the register, from the appointment.
  • Collection: a set of products shown and sold together, picked by hand or filled by a rule.
  • Consignment: stock held by someone who does not own it: a vendor's goods you sell for them, or yours a customer holds until sold.
  • Edition: the kind of business you said you are, which decides what the app offers you.
  • Extra: a short add-on to another service, listed apart when booking and at checkout.
  • Formula: a color mix kept on a client, or a blend written by weight or percent in Inventory.

I to P

  • In transit: stock on a transfer between two locations, on the books until it is received.
  • Landed cost: what an item really cost once the freight, duties and fees on it are added.
  • Lead: a name on a list, kept apart from prospects and accounts until someone works it.
  • Location: a place of business, with its own calendar, register, drawer and tax, sharing clients, services and stock. In Inventory, a location is also a place stock sits in a location group.
  • Location group: where stock is kept at a location, such as a back room or a warehouse building, with its stock places in it.
  • Login: who can sign in, with a place on the team and its switches.
  • Main location: the first of a business's locations, where the app opens and new location groups go.
  • Module: a part of the app a business can switch on or off.
  • Opportunity: potential business with an account, moved through stages on the board.
  • Option: one length or price of a service, such as 60 or 90 minutes.
  • Organization: the businesses one owner runs together, each with its own books.
  • Package: a set of visits paid for up front.
  • Part: what you buy and count in Inventory. Selling a product takes its parts out of stock.
  • Pick bin: the bin an item is picked from at a place, refilled from the place's other bins.
  • Pick ticket: a kept piece of picking work, from orders or a transfer, given to a picker and finished.
  • Pipeline: the opportunities on the board, by stage.
  • Processing time: time during a service when the person is free for another client.
  • Project: work of many steps on a board of tasks, with an owner and due days.
  • Product: what you sell, with its name, price and pictures.
  • Prospect: a business that reached out, or that your team is working: New, Attempting contact or Working.

R to W

  • Rep: a login that sells, with prospects, accounts, routes and visits of its own.
  • Route: a rep's day of stops in order, with directions, check-ins and check-outs.
  • Sheet: a spreadsheet kept in Memory, edited in a grid and brought into the records.
  • Stage: a numbered step of a process, named for what is happening, with how likely a win is.
  • Stock tag: a quantity received, with its cost, lot and date, sitting in a place or a bin.
  • Switch: something a login may or may not do, or a part of the app that is on or off.
  • Territory: who sells where, in a tree of as many levels as the business needs.
  • 3PL: a third-party warehouse that holds and ships your stock.
  • Top bar: the sections the business keeps in view all day.
  • Transfer: stock moved from one location to another, in transit until received.
  • Variant: one size, scent or color of a product, with its own price, SKU and part.
  • Waitlist: who to call when a slot opens.
  • Waiting room: who has arrived, with a check-in screen for the door.
  • Weighted: an amount multiplied by how likely a win is at its stage.
  • Workflow: a reminder, follow-up or to-do that runs itself when something happens.
